On November 2nd, we celebrated our third annual Hardship to Hope Reception. It was an inspiring evening as we honored those who go above and beyond to assist justice-involved individuals and at-risk youth on their journey toward long-term success. Over 150 esteemed attendees contributed to a raising
over $100,000 for direct support to programming costs.

Uplift Solutions is dedicated to eliminating obstacles that prevent individuals from reintegrating into society and regaining control of their stories after experiencing hardships. The evening’s gathering celebrated the impactful efforts that foster optimism, reconstruct lives, and open doors to a more promising tomorrow.

Their success goes beyond the individual level; it positively affects communities and contributes to statewide economic prosperity. Conversely, when individuals are unable to reintegrate into society successfully, it places a burden on everyone. “We believe life-changing transformations are possible, and
we see it daily in our work,” said Uplift Solutions President and CEO Atif Bostic.

We honored the remarkable achievements of five exceptional individuals who have profoundly impacted society.

• Anton K. Moore, Founder and President of Unity in the Community, received the Visionary Award for demonstrating creative foresight and whose unique vision continues to shape the community.
• Blanche Carney, Commissioner of Philadelphia Prisons, received the Change Maker Award for implementing positive change within the justice system.
• Kurt Evans, Chef from Everybody Eats, received the Trailblazer Award for pushing the boundaries, redefining standards, and creating a path for others.
• Julia Keleher, Principal of Solution Partners LLC, received the Unparalleled Perseverance Award for showing resilience and determination in the face of hardship.

In addition, we introduced a new award, “From Hardship to Hope,” with whom we honored Prevention Case Manager Veronica Rex from Prevention Point Philadelphia. This accolade honors individuals who have completed the Uplift Solutions programs and inspire others in their journeys toward rebuilding their lives. “I am so grateful for everything Uplift did for me to ensure I had the skills needed to secure employment,” she said.
