Uplift Solutions, Graduate Philly and North10 are three organizations collaborating and celebrating the Grand Opening of The Impact Center in North Philadelphia providing access to free job training, post-secondary education, and certification for access to higher paying jobs!

In Philadelphia, on February 21st at the Lenfest Center in North Philadelphia’s Hunting Park, East Tioga community at the Lenfest Center is thrilled to announce the Grand Opening Celebration of The Impact Center, a groundbreaking Workforce Development Program. This innovative program is the result of a collaborative effort between three leading organizations, Graduate Philadelphia, North10, Philadelphia and Uplift Solutions.

The Impact Center is an innovative, collective impact initiative that fuses the strengths of three premier non-profit, Philadelphia-focused organizations, aims to tackle seemingly intractable society concerns associated with generational, systemic disinvestment. As a collective, we acknowledge the discriminatory practices of the past and present that have shaped the world in which we all live. The Workforce Development Program aims to support low-income residents including those who are justice impacted in the community by providing them with valuable training opportunities that will enable them to secure higher-paying jobs. Through this partnership, Graduate Philadelphia, North10, Philadelphia and Uplift Solutions, are committed to empowering individuals to enhance their skills, boost their employability, offer life-skills training, specific workforce skill building, guidance and access to higher education degrees and post-secondary credentials, networking opportunities for participants to leverage connections and ultimately improve their quality of life.

“We firmly believe that we cannot continue to take the same, siloed approaches to workforce development; our city requires we disrupt the status quo.” – Malik Brown, CEO, Graduate Philly

We accept the truth of the roles that these unequitable systems and policies play in relegating how marginalized communities receive equitable access. The failure to acknowledge and accept these societal ills over all collectively holds us back from healing, progress, and true cohesive inclusivity. – Atif Bostic, CEO, Uplift Solution

The Impact Center at North10 will provide a home base for the residents of Hunting Park-East Tioga and the broader North Philadelphia community where they can receive training, job preparedness skills, and advanced credentialing to acquire quality jobs, increase wages, and sustainable careers to spur economic mobility and community development. – Josh Klaris, ED, North10

At the press conference, representatives from each of the partner organizations and local legislators will be present to share insights into the program’s objectives, as well as the impact it is expected to have on the local community. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the program’s curriculum, training resources, and the support services that will be available to participants.

We invite members of the press and the community to join us at the grand opening celebration of the Workforce Development Program. This event serves as a testament to the power of collaboration and the collective commitment to creating pathways for economic advancement and professional growth for individuals in need.

Uplift Solutions

At Uplift Solutions, we believe life-changing transformations are possible. We see them every day in the work we do. Our justice-involved participants not only graduate from our program with guaranteed employment, they graduate with dignity, pride, and a renewed sense of purpose. Many of our staff bring their own lived experience to their work, which is why our participants often say that our community feels like a caring family. We understand the stigma, fear, and insecurities our participants face. We meet each person right where they are at, with empathy and respect. Since 2017, hundreds of graduates have rediscovered their strengths – and their potential – through our holistic support. They are no longer defined by labels. From job training to the life skills that address negative thought patterns and poor decision making, our participants are equipped with the tools for long-term success. Our graduates are our best ambassadors. Many are reaching back to help others through our active alumni community and our ongoing advocacy efforts. As we grow, we are sharing and spreading the Uplift Solutions model around the country to reduce recidivism and to transform lives.
