Uplift’s CDL Training Program consists of technical education, examinations, and hands-on training that allow graduates the ability to pursue gainful employment in the CDL professions. It also includes our world class life skills training, giving participants the tools necessary to maintain their careers and grow as individuals. Our CDL course provides a wealth of knowledge to the participants. Here are the details of the program:

  • The CDL program is a total of 8 weeks and held at 3890 N. 10th Street, Philadelphia PA 19140.
  • Weeks 1-4: Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. – NOON are the Life Skills portion which consists of job/readiness, interview coaching, conflict resolution and emotional/anger management in the workplace.
  • Weeks 1-4 also include 4 Saturdays of in-classroom learning that teaches participants Class B vehicle pre and post inspections; safety systems and protocols; safe Class B operating procedures; how to recognize and report on vehicle malfunctions; compliance with non-driving activities of Class B vehicles and prepares individuals for their CDL permit test.
  • Weeks 5-8 are taught only on 4 Saturdays of hands-on operating lessons in a Class B vehicle including advanced operating practices of a CMV Class B vehicle.
  • Class capacity of 15-20 people to optimize individual attention for a superior learning experience.
  • Instructed by an experienced SEPTA employee who will treat you with the dignity and respect you deserve.
  • Participants will receive their Class B Permit and Class B License.
  • Uplift will help participants secure positions with SEPTA as bus drivers, delivery companies, and the plethora of local business who need a good Class B licensed driver.
