Jordan A. Harris

Jordan A. Harris represents the 186th Legislative District since 2012, including communities in south and southwest Philadelphia. Rising through the ranks, he became the Democratic Caucus Whip in 2018 and currently serves as the Democratic Appropriations Chair for the 2023-24 session, making history as the first African American in both roles. As Chair of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus, Harris is a champion for criminal justice reform. He co-authored Pennsylvania’s Clean Slate Law, sealing over 40 million records since 2018. Harris led the expansion of the law, passed with bipartisan support in June 2023. He also advocates for probation reform, co-sponsoring bipartisan legislation in the 2021-22 session.
